Hello to all! Here’s another weekly set of Paris views, this time with a rather heavy animal theme. That’s a what a trip to the zoo will do to a blogger, I suppose.

The Parc Zoologique de Vincennes, or simply the Vincennes Zoo as most of us call it. As is the case in most zoos, the penguins were my favorite part. They are some cool dudes indeed.
A little courtyard that a lot of people walk by in the Marais is at 111 Rue Saint-Antoine. I’m not a car guy but this is a pretty beautiful machine, and it seemed to fit perfectly with the color of the architecture around it.More zoo action. This place actually has a surprising number of giraffes and occasionally you have to remind yourself you’re in Paris!Oh those beautiful S-curves!Last week I highlighted a fun and unique Métro sign at the Lamarck/Caulaincourt station (18th arr). Here’s another one from the same station.Rue Vieille du Temple in the Marais. Euro scooters and 16th century stone – how could I resist?The rather infamous Pompidou Center (4th arr).It’s hip, it’s hidden, and it’s happening – L’Improbable Café (4th arr). They serve affordable sandwiches, quiches and soups that are healthy and often vegetarian. This and the next four photos are from the same café, L’Improbable.
A lovely chair (are we allowed to sit on it?) at Merci (4th arr).The Pont des Arts has been relieved of its love locks, but a few stragglers remain. The dome is L’Institut Français, where several academic institutions were installed in the 17th century.

Even though it is “infamous” as an engineer I always enjoy visiting the Pompidou Center.
L’improbable looks a lot like the famed “ruin” bars of Budapest. Trying too hard, just a bit?

Ha, my own ‘Adirondack’ chair soon will look like the one at Merci’s…. :) I fell in love with them when being often at Dartington Devon, UK for work and summer school and acquired one here in France. Very comfy with a cushion! The one at Merci’s obviously is NOT meant to be used, hence the Museum approach with the cord across it ;)
Didn’t see the love locks on the street light on Pont des Arts…. You really do have a photographer’s eye and truly special skills with your camera. Always a delight to visit.
Like the look of the table with the food @ The Improable, not so much the rest. For lunch I’m preparing a Quiche and a ‘wildly’ mixed salad – which we will eat outside on a wooden table but not with bamboo cutlery – and with a glass of red. Bon appétit…
I love this week’s unexpected mix of zoo animals, trendy café spots, and classic Paris spots. In fact, I love your blog EVERY week … it’s always a pleasure to see Paris through your eyes.
